Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Ghostmails

What is Ghostmails?

Ghostmails is a free temporary email service. You can generate a disposable email address instantly, receive messages, and let them disappear automatically. No signup required.

How long does a temporary email last?

Each temporary email address lasts 1 hour by default. You can extend it up to 24 hours using the '+1h' button in your inbox.

Is Ghostmails free?

Yes, completely free. The service is supported by non-intrusive advertising to keep it accessible to everyone.

Do I need to create an account?

No. Ghostmails works without any registration. Just click 'Generate' and you're ready to receive emails immediately.

Can I receive attachments?

Yes. Ghostmails supports email attachments. You can view and download any file sent to your temporary address directly from your browser.

Is Ghostmails safe to use?

Yes. We don't store your personal information, we use encrypted connections (HTTPS), and all emails are permanently deleted when your address expires. However, temporary email addresses are not suitable for sensitive or confidential communications — never use them for banking, work accounts, or anything that requires long-term access.

Can I send emails with Ghostmails?

No. Ghostmails is a receive-only service. You can only receive emails on your temporary address. This is by design — it prevents spam and keeps the service fast and simple.

Can I use Ghostmails on my phone?

Yes. Ghostmails is fully responsive and works on any device with a modern web browser. No app download required.

What happens when my address expires?

The address and all associated emails are permanently and irreversibly deleted from our servers. There is no way to recover them after expiration.

Can someone else access my temporary inbox?

Your inbox is linked to a secure session cookie in your browser. Anyone with the same device and browser session can access it. If someone else knows your temporary email address, they could send emails to it — but they cannot access your inbox. Never use a temporary email for information you consider confidential.

Why do some websites block temporary emails?

Some websites maintain blocklists of known temporary email domains to prevent abuse, such as fake signups or trial farming. This is their choice and outside our control. It is not a flaw in Ghostmails.

Which languages does Ghostmails support?

Ghostmails is available in 10 languages: English, French, Spanish, Chinese, Hindi, Arabic, Bengali, Portuguese, Russian, and Urdu. Language is detected automatically and can be changed from the interface.
